Mirko Baselgia @ Swiss Post Stamp

We are pleased to announce that La Poste (Swiss Post) has selected the stamp project that Mirko Baselgia proposed as part of its “La Poste Commitment to Art” program following an invitation-only competition.

Is it a tree or an organic structure? For this stamp, artist Mirko Baselgia was inspired by the image of an upside-down windpipe. From the basic shape, he drew the contours of an imaginary tree. This shape symbolises the interdependence between plants, animals and humans. The artist created the inks for his “re-respirar” work himself, using buckthorn nuts and berries, and then blew them onto hemp paper.

This stamp, with a face value of 120 cts (courier A) and the envelope that goes with it are available in certain La Poste offices or on its website.
